Come sing with us at The Big Sing! Forget about the cold weather, and all the holiday season stress. Enjoy a hot cup of tea and a cookie, and the welcoming and soothing sounds of voices coming together in song.
The Big Sing is a celebration that we hold twice per year – at the end of our fall and winter choir seasons. It’s a time when our three community choirs come together, and we invite our broader community of friends, family, neighbours, and Toronto residents to join us in song! Everyone is welcome, and singing experience is not required. Our songs are easy-to-learn, and will nourish your soul and uplift your spirit.
The Big Sing is brought to you by Sing for Joy, an all-inclusive singing community that gathers each week for the pure joy of singing together. It is a member of the Ubuntu Choir Network, a global community of singing groups who believe that singing is a universal birthright, and that together, regardless of musical background, we can help improve the world by joining voices in song. To learn more about Sing for Joy, visit: www.singforjoy.ca.
All ticket sales will go to support the Sing for Joy Bursary Fund. Our Bursary Fund provides free membership in our community choirs and programs for newcomer refugees, and support for our programs and volunteer work across the province.
While this event will be primarily in the English language, oral translation of songs, stories, and descriptions will be available in the languages of Arabic, French, and Spanish. This service is offered by our community members.
This event will be held at the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club in the heart of Toronto’s historic Cabbagetown, at 101 Spruce Street. This location is wheelchair accessible.
